Goals from Sam Saunders and Clayton Donaldson saw Brentford move into the play-off zone with victory at Crawley.
Crawley had Mark Connolly sent off after 50 seconds for a foul on Donaldson - who missed the penalty.
Saunders rifled home from 15 yards for 1-0, before Donaldson doubled their lead after seizing on a defensive mix up to tap into an empty net.
Brentford's Adam Forshaw collected a second yellow card for diving before Nicky Adams made it 2-1 from 30 yards.

Crawley manager Richie Barker told BBC Sussex:
"What an absolutely fantastic effort. To play 100 minutes - I think it was three minutes of injury time in the first half and seven minutes in the second half - with 10 men, and the be the best team for the last 45 minutes, is an absolutely great effort.
"We had a game-plan at half-time as we needed to stay in the game, because how many times have you seen things evened up. I thought the players stuck to it very well. The only thing missing was a little bit of luck.
"It never rains but it pours [Connolly's dismissal]. We are now getting to the point where we can't even fill the bench."
