Dundee prepares for cup derby

The third Dundee derby of the season is heading for a sell-out for Sunday's Scottish Cup quarter-final at Dens Park.

United have won the two previous SPL encounters this season 3-0 on each occasion, but this time around two new managers occupy the two hot seats.

John Brown's appointment at Dundee met with much hostility, but a battling comeback to earn a 2-2 draw in midweek against St Johnstone showed the team's character and resolve, and did him no harm with the Dens faithful.

Jackie McNamara's appointment at United was warmly welcomed by the supporters and, other than a heavy defeat at Celtic, three wins and two draws in his six games in charge have cemented his popularity.

The usual bragging rights for the fans are up for grabs on Sunday, but also, with the semi-final cash being pooled, the financial rewards for the winning club could be hugely important in strengthening for the following season.

No pressure on the two new man in the dugouts then...
