Leyton Orient kept their slim play-off hopes alive with a narrow victory against lowly Portsmouth.
The result sees the O's move to within six points of the League One play-off places with eight games remaining.
The visitors had the better of the first-half exchanges and Jed Wallace twice came close to scoring.
But Shaun Batt later seized on a poorly-executed back pass from Dan Butler and coolly slotted past keeper Simon Eastwood from 12 yards.
