Morecambe 1-1 Northampton

Kelvin Langmead earned promotion-chasing Northampton a last-gasp point with a header a minute from time.

The defender nodded into the empty net after an Ishmel Demontagnac free-kick hit the left-hand post and rebounded into his path.

The Shrimps took the lead through in-form striker Jack Redshaw, who curled a delightful effort past Lee Nicholls.

Northampton hit the woodwork three times with Chris Hackett, Langmead and Ben Harding all denied.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Northampton Town manager Aidy Boothroyd told BBC Radio Northampton:

"That was a great game. (It would have been unfair) If we hadn't have got anything out of that - after hitting the post four times.

"We've played ever so well. I thought we were strong.

"We talked before the game about making sure we were still in the game come the last 20 minutes, we didn't quite do that.

"But I thought we could have nicked it and deserved all three points."
