Sheffield Wednesday centre-back Anthony Gardner says the side need to be confident going into their upcoming fixtures.
The struggling Owls travel to fifth-placed Leicester on Saturday, before hosting league leaders Cardiff and local neighbours Barnsley this month.
Gardner, 32, told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We're confident that we can put in performances and get results.
"You have to have belief that you can win no matter who you play against."
He added: "It is a very open league and if you get your tactics right and apply yourself on the day then it is possible to beat anyone."
Dave Jones's side have conceded just 10 goals in their last 14 Championship games and the former Tottenham, Hull City and Crystal Palace man says their new-found solidity can be the key to them surviving.
"For the most part we have eradicated the mistakes we were making at the start of the season," Gardner concluded.
"There are going to be times when you are not as resilient as you would like to be, but the more solid you are at the back the better platform you have to win a game.
"You always want to make the team you play against earn any goal that they get."
