Brian Smikle scored in injury time as Hereford came from behind to beat Blue Square Bet Premier strugglers Barrow.
Adam Boyes put the visitors ahead from six yards, before Sean McConville was sent off for handball and Joshua O'Keefe scored from the spot.
Barrow, who are now three points adrift of safety, went close when Gavin Skelton's long-range shot cannoned off a post.
Smikle converted Ryan Bowman's cross from six yards to win it for Hereford.
