Crewe Alexandra: Steve Davis wants to 'entertain' fans
Crewe manager Steve Davis believes his side's performances at Gresty Road this season have lacked entertainment value for supporters.
The Alex have won 12 of their 22 home matches in their first campaign back in League One after promotion last term.
But Davis feels his team have failed to captivate with their style of play.
"Although we've had some great results at home, we haven't probably been able to entertain as much as we'd liked to have done," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"We always felt results were of primary importance for our league position - it's just finding that balance."
"We'd love to be able to play fantastic football and win the game, but that isn't always possible. Whatever way they come, you have to get results."
Crewe lie comfortably mid-table in League One and host Shrewsbury this weekend, a side whom they were promoted alongside last season.
And Davis praised the work of Shrews boss Graham Turner to build a squad to compete at League One level.
"Graham Turner's worked hard to get players good enough to play at this level," Davis said
"He's got a settled group now with a lot of experience and a few young loans, which have probably revitalised the group.
"They had a great result at MK Dons, which suggests they've hit good form at the right time and it's got them out of the bottom area and into a good position now."
