Paul Watson scored a dramatic injury-time winner as Montrose edged past Division Three's bottom side East Stirlingshire.
The hosts went closest to the opening goal through Phillip Zufle in the 23rd minute but he could not find a way past visiting goalkeeper Sandy Wood.
And they found themselves behind just after the half-hour mark when Watson curled in a fine free-kick from 25 yards following Maxwell Wright's challenge on Terry Masson.
But Wright made amends two minutes before the break when he unleashed an unstoppable drive into the top corner to level.
The game looked to be heading for a stalemate before Watson produced a sumptuous volley deep into stoppage time.
Gable Endies midfielder Paul Lunan was also shown a second yellow card in the aftermath but it mattered little as the visitors held on for all three points.
