Wrexham's promotion bid suffered a significant blow after they were held at home by Macclesfield Town in Blue Square Bet Premier.
The woodwork denied Andy Morrell's header while visiting goalkeeper Rhys Taylor kept out Adrian Cieslewicz and Dean Keates.
At the other end Chris Maxwell stopped Matthew Barnes-Homer's late effort.
The result leaves Wrexham fourth in the table, 11 points off top spot but eight clear of sixth-placed Forest Green.
Macclesfield are eighth, but now lie nine points off the play-off positions.

Wrexham player-manager Andy Morrell told BBC Radio Wales:
"The lads were excellent. On a tough pitch and against touch opponents, I thought they were excellent in their endeavour and work-rate is second to none for me.
"It's just such fine margins at the minute. You're talking probably a couple of centimetres for an offside on Saturday [a 2-0 defeat by Hyde] and then today you're talking another couple of centimetres for a header off the bar.
"So it's just not going our way… in front of goal. But we defended resolutely today, even when we were trying to get the goal.
"We've just got to keep going."
