Alloa Athletic maintained second place in Division Two after seeing off Stranraer.
Both sides found it difficult to fashion clear-cut chances in the first half, although Christopher Aitken's 20-yarder after 26 minutes came close to registering the opener for the hosts.
At the other end, Alloa lacked the necessary penetration but a shot from Calum Elliot whistled wide shortly before the break.
The visitors took the lead after 55 minutes when Graeme Holmes struck home from Ben Gordon's pass.
And the advantage was doubled 13 minutes later when Holmes supplied Ryan McCord with an opportunity from 12 yards.
Stranraer pulled one back when Robert Love made the most of Darren Gribben's approach work.
