Graeme Holmes' stunning long-range effort capped a good afternoon for Alloa Athletic as they eased to a win over Ayr United.
Calum Elliot went close to putting the visitors into a 22nd-minute lead but his right-footed strike was kept out by Graeme Smith.
But Smith was unable to prevent Ryan McCord from breaking the deadlock five minutes later when the former Airdrie midfielder rifled home his fourth goal in six games.
Paul Hartley's men continued to press after the interval and went close to extending their advantage when Kevin Moon's effort from the edge of the area saved by the feet of Smith.
The Wasps went even closer to sealing their win in the closing stages when Elliot diverted Martin Grehan's 88th-minute cross against the post.
The three points were eventually sealed though when Holmes found the top corner from distance in the final minute.
