Dunfermline's misery continued with defeat by Hamilton, extending the Pars' winless run to 10 matches.
The East End Park club, who have applied to enter administration, fought back from a goal down twice but had no reply to Martin Canning's 77th-minute winner.
Skipper Alex Neil and Academy director Frankie McAvoy were in charge of the visitors after Billy Reid left the club in midweek following almost eight years in charge.
Jon McShane nodded Hamilton them into a second-minute lead from a corner but Ryan Thomson replied with a header of his own before half-time.
Hamilton took the lead again in the 57th minute as Ali Crawford's free-kick was headed in by Michael Devlin.
However Dunfermline levelled once more, this time through Stephen Husband's 66th-minute penalty after Canning had brought down Callum Morris in the box.
Yet Canning made amends 11 minutes later by turning in Louis Longridge's cross to secure back-to-back victories for Hamilton.
