Queen's Park sustained their fourth defeat in five matches as second-bottom Annan Athletic claimed their first win in a month.
Blair Spittal and Michael Keenan had early chances for the visitors and the hosts threatened through Michael Daly.
Scott Chaplain swept past Neil Parry to give Annan a 28th-minute lead.
And, after home goalkeeper Alex Mitchell twice denied Aidan Connolly, David Hopkirk tucked home Daly's pass for a late second.
The Spiders remain second but are still not guaranteed a promotion play-off spot.
