Oxford United boss Chris Wilder bemoans tough period

Oxford boss Chris Wilder says his team need to work hard to put things right, following Saturday's latest defeat.

The U's have now gone five games without a victory and have three matches remaining of their season.

But under-fire Wilder is determined to make sure their season ends on a high.

"I have no problem with the enthusiasm and commitment, I just think it's a tough period," Wilder told BBC Radio Oxford. "We need to go again for the next game."

Oxford's three remaining matches are against Dagenham & Redbridge, Rochdale and Accrington, and Wilder has urged his struggling side to bounce back.

"We try and prepare and set the team up with the numbers we've got because we've got a few down," Wilder said.

"When players are playing with no belief or confidence it does really make it hard.

"We've got to regain that [confidence] by keeping going, sticking your chest out and working as hard as possible.

"Hopefully someone does something that gets us up and running again."
