Chelsea Ladies have signed Brazil international midfielder Ester, the first Brazilian to play in the Women's Super League.
Ester, who was part of the Brazil squad who finished as runners-up in the 2007 World Cup and 2008 Olympics, could make her debut against Birmingham on Sunday.
"I'm delighted to be here at Chelsea and am looking forward to the new season," said the 30-year-old.
"I feel at home already and am very happy to play for such a big club."
Ester is a defensive midfielder with 56 caps for her country and has played in Europe for Russian champions WFC Rossiyanka.
She was welcomed to the club's training ground by Chelsea's Brazilian contingent of David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar.
