Cameroon and Mainz striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is set to miss the rest of the German season after undergoing surgery on his right knee.
The operation means he is also likely to miss the Indomitable Lions' 2014 World Cup qualifiers away in Togo and DR Congo in June.
The 24-year-old recently missed six months of action with a similar injury.
Choupo-Moting has played just 9 matches this season for Mainz and scored just one goal.
He had only just returned to action when he was called up for Cameroon's 2-1 win over Togo in a 2014 qualifier last month and was on the bench for that game.
