Nigeria and Ivory Coast reach African U-17 semifinals
Nigeria and Ivory Coast have joined the hosts Morocco and Tunisia in the semifinals of the 2013 African U-17 Championship.
Nigeria booked their place in the last four with an emphatic 7-nil victory over Congo.
Ivory Coast progressed with a 0-0 draw against Ghana who go out.
All four semi-finalists qualify for the Under-17 World Cup later this year.
The tournament will be held in United Arab Emirates between 17 October and 8 November.
The Golden Eaglets sealed their place in the last four with a dominant display against Congo. There was a hat-trick for Kelechi Iheanacho, whilst Isaac Success hit two more goals. Musa Yahaya and Ifeanyi Matthew were also on the scoresheet.
Nigeria go to the top of Group B on 6 points and will now face Tunisia in the semifinals.
The other semifinal pits Ivory Coast against the hosts Morocco.
Ivory Coast finished a point behind Nigeria, leaving Ghana to suffer an early exit.
The first semifinal between Morocco and Ivory Coast will be played on 23 April. Nigeria and Tunisia face each other a day later.
