@500 obviousl;y another hater who cant see whats going on. Newcastle for example, a bad French connection. But that aside its not one player its the system in place, that English players cost to much for some unkown reason and the base of prem players are bought abroad for less money and it affects the national team. Its just a fact no matter how based you are. But l your not bothered about facts
Barcelona have been well and truly Mullered over two legs.
@499,Top 2? You mean like the EPL?
@ 491 Robioto - I can only assume you don't watch much La liga football! Boring?? Far from it. It is my preferred league to watch as the passing game is how football should be played. @ 495 2corners99 - Sorry, i am trying to make sense of what you have written. Yes, Bayern have historically controlled Bundesliga, but this year's title was first since 2010 so not that dominant.
@496,Money is destroying the Prem with cheap imports???LOL! You mean like Michu and the likes? I suppose we need more Andy Carrolls? The problem with English football is just that - the English!
"For starters, La Liga's top four is not the closed shop it once was." Has the writer actually seen the La Liga Tables of the last few years! It's the Top 2 that is a closed shop and the 3rd and 4th places that are open to teams to scrap amongst themselves as far down as 8th place! It's been like this for years. It's been 5 now since Real and Barca were split & that was down to a Bad Barca Season!
another lazy stupid bbc article that causes nothing but arguments which cant be re-solved . how would you even start. waste of time and effort
SInce its inception European Cup Competition is based on the Natural eras of Great Teams,ie Real Madrid,Ac milan,Bayern, Liverpool,Ajax,Forest..Then we had the epoche of One Nation finals,Spain,Italy,England and now the Germens..hard to take but Bayern are good dortmund noboddy had on their radar.Bayern are as good as Barcelona ever were, a fuller packet of talent and not dependent on one Player.
@494 What is there to be embarrsed about. England still produce very good footballplayers and in the Under 21's and below we do rather well. Money is destroying the Prem with cheap imports and this in turn makes the national team suffer. England are not the best but they are far from the worst. I think comments like yours are just anti English and people like you have an Agenda of hate.
Bundesliga or Premier league sadly the question was formulated wrong...Clearly...Bayern have dominated and bullied the BL since its inception...scenes egual to Celtic and Rangers in Scotland..destroying the competition by buying the talent that threatend its right to success,in the case of Dortmund..Götze..Lewandowski..Stuttgart..Elber and later Gomez,Big deal 2 German Teams maybe in a final.!
I'd feel embarrassed if I boasted of a league whose success is decisively dependent on foreign stars (PL) due to the lack of stars of one's own.And I would be embarrassed if due to that constellation my national side (3 Lions) failed in the big tournaments time after time.
Football heaven: La Liga talent, Bundesliga ticket prices, ownership, finances and atmosphere, EPL drama.Football hell: La Liga finances, EPL ticket prices, ownership, atmosphere consultants, Bundesliga....er....that's it.
Since the all english final in 2008, Utd appeared twice(lost), Chelsea(won). In the same period Bayern will be 3 appearances + Dortmund. EPL has not only been subservient to La Liga, its record in the last 5 year is worse than Bundesliga. Add on cheaper domestic tickets, a national side that is YOUNG and improving....clubs that appreciate the fanbase.... EPL, the best ? Yeh right
Budesliga, the league has far more depth of good teams than the Spanish League and the top 2 teams in Germany have just crushed the top 2 teams in Spain. Also Bayern last year knocked out Barcelona. The Spanish league has got to be the most mundane out of all the top leagues along with Italy. The football is boring to watch.
