Steve Tilson: Canvey Island boss replaced by Danny Heale
Former Southend United boss Steve Tilson has left his job as manager at Canvey Island.
Tilson, 46, took over last summer and led the Gulls to an eighth-place finish in the Ryman Premier Division.
Canvey striker Danny Heale has been named as Tilson's replacement and is expected to appoint an experienced assistant to his staff.
Tilson is Essex's second non-league casualty of the week after
He led Southend to promotion to the Championship in 2006, a year in which they also achieved a notable victory over Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United in the League Cup.
He also had a spell at Lincoln City, but left in 2011 after the Imps were relegated out of the Football League.
