Defender Daniel Alfei signs new Swansea contract
Swansea City defender Daniel Alfei has signed a new contract until June 2016.
The 21-year-old had a year left on his current deal, but the Premier League club was keen to offer Alfei a two-year extension.
The Wales Under-21 right-back has spent most of this season on loan at Blue Square Premier side Wrexham.
"I'm absolutely delighted, it's good to know the club has faith in me and there is nowhere I would rather be than Swansea," Alfei told the club website.
"The loan spell at Wrexham was great for me. It's a good club and I really believe I learnt a lot there this season. It's made me a better player."
Alfei missed Wrexham's play-off final at Wembley, where they lost out to Welsh rivals Newport County for promotion to the Football League, plus the Dragons' FA Trophy final win due to a hamstring injury.
"Obviously it's been difficult at times for me this season because of the injury, especially after missing out on their two trips to Wembley - what are the odds of that happening?" Alfei added.
"But that's all part of my development and I wouldn't rule out going on loan somewhere again next season. I think that's probably what I need to keep progressing before hopefully returning to push hard for a place in the first team."
