@31 well said m8 and it pains me to say it but wanyama is a class player and is a certainty to get a big move down south wish we had a decent scouting network
Wanyama? What a joke. A big, lazy, lumbering oaf who scored a goal against barca. Apart from that he's been average and will be found out at a higher level.
#36German clubs get big TV money as well, not as big as the Sky League in England. They however, are largely German-owned clubs unlike England where Shopping Mall Utd finished ahead of Sheikh City and Gangsterski FC.
34- McCall is Scottish hence the many caps he has. Anyway as shown the League is Germanys No1 as it dont need massive handouts by subscribers to help it out. Man Utd would not even finish in the top 6 in Scotland, I mean Gers who are bigger than Man U struggled against Stirlinfg. Stirling could qualify for CL. Do u really know ur scottish football???
@ 26.. Why are u on a Scottish forum... Btw Celtic have more supporters clubs in England than half the epl teams do!
Why all the hostile posts towards dear ol' Abiezer (# 4)? I was simply telling the truth - but I suppose that hurts?I'll let you into another little secret. Don't tell anyone, but your manager of the year, Stuart McCall of Motherwell, is also an Englishman. Born in Leeds and learned his trade in Bradford.
Cmon Berwick. Do it for England.
26- Yes all that money and yet not one of the Super teams in the last 8 of CL, Mancini sacked after a dreadfulseason- what does that say about the rest, Yes scottish football in the main is poor just now but we are havin to bring thru geniune talent, whilst the EPL empties every time the African nations cup is on
@26 - no cares south of the border what happens with scottish football !Rubbish. I'm born and bred south of the border and Scotland offers a real taste of football away from the glitz and glamour of the Premier League and all the hype that goes with that!! A breath of fresh air. Still support my English team from up north but can take in some of the Scottish action too.
Although I'm not a Hibs fan I think Griffiths has earned this award. He's been a class act this season and wish he could stay in Scotland for the good of our game. Hibs should be pushing the boat out to sign him permanently and show their fans they actually have some ambition. If the boy can sort his behaviour off field he'll have a fantastic career. If not then it'll just be another Riordon.
@26Well you seem to care what happens north of the border or you wouldn't read articles then comment on them if you didn't.So by your own stupidity you just admitted someone does!Eejit.
@26 - Bore off."no cares south of the border what happens with scottish football !"NO ONE is quite a stretch. There are many many parts of "south of the border" where scots live and work who have an active interest in the SPL and relatively little in the EPL..
Thank god a Celtic player won something as I don't think I can put up with another ridiculous, paranoid moan from Lennon.
With television contracts worth £5.5bn over the next three years, the EPL will be able to hand out in the region of £60m to the club finishing bottom next season, with the SPL champions receiving about £2m. no cares south of the border what happens with scottish football !
I think that theres some sense in how the voting has gone. It's all about opinions and someones always going to kick off if theirs is not being heard. Theres too much palaver and whining over these awards in my opinion but well done Leigh Griffiths; Now finish off the job and carry your team one last time to Scottish Cup Legendary status please because thats what you will become if we win!!
I don't understand how these awards work. This is presuming I am correct in assuming Griffiths was up for YPOTY? If not then please correct me. How can he be judged as best player of the year, but not the best young player? If Wanyama is the better 'young' player then surely he is a better player? It is Scottish football so not surprised that I am confused as usual.
Even as a jambo - well done.
Would be an absolute shocker if Griffiths is playing League One football next season - it's a "kickabout in the park" standard of football. He's a total bampot but deserves to be at a far higher level than that.Surprised Ross County didn't win best media relations, as they always seem to bring pies to the BBC commentators.
@GD LAVERYYes I'd agree but Wanyama has been nothing on his recent form since January and all the transfer talk, which is a shame.
