Dumbarton sign defender Scott Smith from Hibs
Defender Scott Smith has agreed a permanent move to Dumbarton for next season.
The 21-year-old has been on loan at the Division One club from Hibernian since January after a temporary spell at East Fife earlier in the season.
"Scott will be our player from 1 July," manager Ian Murray told the club website.
"I'm delighted to have his signature and Scott is happy to be with us for the new campaign."
Smith made one appearance as a substitute for Hibs, playing the second 45 minutes in a 5-0 League Cup win over Berwick Rangers in August 2011.
The news follows striker Bryan Prunty's decision to stay at Dumbarton for one more year.
The former Aberdeen and Inverness forward, 29, scored 12 goals this season, including an overhead kick against Livingston that was voted goal of the season at the PFA Scotland annual awards.
Scott Agnew, Steven McDougall and Garry Fleming have also agreed new deals.
But manager Murray has released Ross Forsyth, Phil Johnston, Marc McCusker, Jamie Lyden, Kevin Nicol, Glenn Thomson, Reece Pearson, Ryan Metcalfe, James Creaney and Mark Lamont.
