Matty Robson signs new Carlisle United contract
Carlisle United have agreed a new deal with 2013 Player of the Year Matty Robson until the summer of 2015.
The 28-year-old winger has been at Brunton Park since leaving Hartlepool in June 2009, making 176 appearances.
"Speaking to the gaffer [Greg Abbott] and hearing his direction and enthusiasm made my mind up," Robson told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"When you're happy at a place it's difficult to leave. I couldn't have anticipated it going so well."
Robson, who has featured at left-back as well as further forward for the Cumbrians, was one of four out-of-contract players whom Abbott is waiting for confirmation from, along with Danny Livesey, Paul Thirlwell and Lee Miller.
Miller is a major asset for the club, scoring 23 league goals in 56 League One games since his August 2011 switch from Middlesbrough, but is yet to agree to the new terms.
"I'm leaving messages for Lee at the minute, and generally when they don't get returned it is bad news," Abbott said.
"Lee is the deal I thought and suspected might be difficult to do, people are talking to his agent, but he'll have to make that decision and make it rapidly."
