Glentoran defender Sean Ward signs for Linfield
Linfield's summer signing spree has continued with the capture of Glentoran defender Sean Ward.
The 29-year-old asked to be placed on the transfer list at the Oval at the end of the season - just days after the Irish Cup final win over Cliftonville.
Ward's move is a further blow to the Glens who had already lost their top striker Andrew Waterworth to Linfield.
"Sean is a player I have admired for a long time. He has great versatility," said Blues boss David Jeffrey.
"I am so pleased that he will be joining us, as he will make a very significant contribution to the efforts of our squad."
Ward played almost 400 games during his 10 years at Glentoran.
Earlier this week Linfield announced the signing of goalkeeper Jonathan Tuffey who had been released by Scottish Premier League club St Johnstone.
Former Glenavon defender Mark Haughey, Northern Ireland Under-19 full-back Matthew Clarke and midfielder Aaron Burns are other recent arrivals at Windsor Park.
Linfield finished third in the Irish Premiership last season, having won the league and cup double for the previous three years.
