Owain Fon Williams: Tranmere goalkeeper signs new contract
Goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams has signed a new two-year contract with League One side Tranmere Rovers.
Fon Williams reached the end of his two-year deal with Rovers in the summer and has agreed to extend his stay.
The 26-year-old Welshman started all but one of Tranmere's 52 matches in all competitions last season.
His form propelled Ronnie Moore's men to the top of the table early in the season and although he is yet to win a senior cap.
Fon Williams has taken longer than his other colleagues to confirm his stay at Prenton Park, but he told BBC Radio Merseyside that there was never any doubt he would return to the club.
"When we walked out of the door at the end of the season, we all had a chat with the manager and I made it clear I was coming back on 24 June to train," he said.
"There's been lots of interest, which is good because it shows I've done the job on the pitch, but I certainly feel at home here at Tranmere.
"It's the best football club I've ever been at. Yes, I do want to play higher, but I'd like to do that with Tranmere one day."
Fon Williams was a free agent when he and has gone on to make 91 appearances for the club, keeping 31 clean sheets.
