Chester FC sign Michael Kay after Tranmere Rovers departure
Former Tranmere Rovers defender Michael Kay has signed a one-year contract with Chester FC following the club's promotion to the Conference Premier.
The 23-year-old was released by Rovers at the end of last season.
Kay had been at Prenton Park since January 2011, initially joining on loan from Sunderland, and made a total of 40 appearances for the League One side.
"He comes with good experience and has a great hunger to do well here," boss Neil Young told the club website
Kay, who can play at right-back or centre-back, is Chester's 12th summer signing.
