Cosafa Cup: Lesotho pip Kenya to reach quarter-finals

Lesotho beat Swaziland 2-0 to top Group B and advance to the quarter-finals thanks to a superior goal difference over Botswana, who beat Kenya 2-1.

It was a surprise climax to the group as Kenya had been favourites to go through to the last eight after a win and a draw in their first two games.

The Harambee Stars fell to an injury-time winner from Jerome Ramatlhakwana but even a draw would not have been enough to send them through.

Instead, Lesotho took their place in the last eight thanks to goals by Phillip Letsie and Tsepo Seturumane.

Botswana at least ended their competition on a high as they sneaked past Kenya, having seen a lead given to them by Lemponye Tshireletso cancelled out when Edwin Olerile put through his own net.

Ramatlhakwana headed in what proved to be the decisive goal for the group with virtually the last touch of the match.
