Forest Green Rovers: Striker Ben Wright leaves club

Forest Green striker Ben Wright has been released from his contract with the Conference Premier club by mutual consent, halfway into a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old signed last summer from Braintree and manager David Hockaday said: "Ben recognised he was not guaranteed a first-team place.

"He wanted to go somewhere where he had a better chance of playing regularly."

The former Peterborough player scored three goals in 18 appearances, eight as a substitute, for Rovers last season
