Mum supported the Jags as we lived in Maryhill for a while so I'll always look for their results....come on the Thistle !
So glad to see Thistle back in the premier league in fact a breath of fresh air no disrespect to your Dundee's n Dunfermline's who are up and down constantly. Hope they have a great season....from a hoops man.
Really entertaining for a 0-0 draw. PT need a big striker. Thomson was incompetent....why were any of the 3 PT cards necessary?? I was shouting that Butcher had to go for his tackle on Fraser but in seeing it again a yellow was correct. PT had a few good penalty claims especially when ATS was bundled to the ground, first half. Was negative about Thistles chances this season, much happier now.
Anyone who's suggesting this was a long ball game can be ignored, they obviously didn't watch the game. Both teams played the ball on the deck. That Thistle's starting XI had an average age of 22, with no-one older than 26 and with a total of no minutes Premier experience and more than matched an established top league side can only be encouraging.
Not a great game, but certainly not awful both teams had positives. Thistle were unlucky not to come away with 3 points in the end. Hopefully they can keep this level up and stay in the league.Butcher had 2 opportunities to be sent off the ref really failed there and if a Partick player had made those challenges I'd be fizzing. Fair play to the players for keeping their cool.
@60 it was a good game, both keepers made very good saves to keep it at 0-0. Two sides that tried to at football unlike burnley & boltons hoof it style which is on now. it was certainly a far better game than this football league hoof it in the air garbage that's on sky right now. Now away back under your bridge troll
excellent display of pass and move from such a young team who came from the first division without as much funding as theyd like to buy players. All i see is negatives from the game, cant score etc etc... It was the first game of the season . Id uch rather watch that performance from thistle than sevco display of football.
Looked from the highlights like an exciting game. Hope it bodes well for the rest of the season.Butcher was a lucky boy, but Thomson is a diddy of a ref
@57 I didn't say Butcher should not have been sent off! But the tackle by Sinclair was unpunished and he was clearly late. Maybe we agree on one thing that referees are still incompetent and their assts are as bad. Remember Butcher can still be cited if my understanding is correct, but then so should Sinclair a la Stevenson. Mind you the Lunny mob are just as stupid as those they represent IMHO!
Loving fact that on first SPL match of season there was a "brawl" - quality family entertainment. I wonder if Mortherwell will put this week's bad Euro result behind them and push closer to Celtic.
@60What difference does it make what the Beeb says? It was the sort of game where you could have had 50 attempts per side and neither even looked remotely capable of scoring.A distinct lack of quality all round.
