Jordan Brown's second-half strike for Peterhead edged out Brechin in the Ramsdens Cup.
The home side grabbed the lead with the first attack of note after eight minutes. Rory McAllister's cross found David Cox six yards out and he swept home with ease.
Brechin struggled for the majority of the half but were gifted an equaliser on the stroke of half-time when Robert Barr's cross was headed past his own goalkeeper by Ryan Strachan.
Cox almost set up a second early in the second half but his cross was put wide by James Redman.
But Peterhead did get the decisive goal after 73 minutes when Brown got on the end of Dean Cowie's long ball before slotting in from the centre of the area.
