David Goodwillie goals will come, says Jackie McNamara

Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara is confident David Goodwillie will deliver goals after a frustrating night for the striker at Firhill.

"The goals will come, he's looking sharp," McNamara told BBC Radio Scotland.

"Both teams went at it. I thought it was an entertaining game."

The first match of the Scottish Premiership season pitched McNamara up against his former club but application and endeavour was countered by a lack of cutting edge in front of goal.

"At times, we were a bit sloppy," admitted McNamara.

"We could've picked them off a bit better in the last third. That was disappointing because I thought it was there for us.

"I'm glad this game's out the way now, we can go and concentrate on next week."
