Debutant Danny Rowe scored the only goal to secure unbeaten Lincoln victory over winless Macclesfield.
The Imps took a deserved lead when Nick Wright played in Rowe and the former Fleetwood striker dummied before finishing superbly from 12 yards.
Lincoln almost doubled their lead but Wright's shot forced a sprawling save from Macclesfield keeper Rhys Taylor.
The Silkmen nearly equalised through Chris Holroyd but his ambitious chip finished wide of the goal.

Lincoln City boss Gary Simpson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:
"I know Macclesfield have got some good footballers that keep the ball, because they've got to keep the ball as they're not the biggest up top, and to be fair to them they did. We had to work hard to keep them at bay.
"I always thought at this stage of the season, this would be their [Macclesfield's] best time.
"We'd have probably been better playing them at Christmas time when the pitches have gone a bit, because of the footballers they've got."
