Grimsby 3-1 Alfreton Town

Joe Colbeck inspired Grimsby to a comfortable win as they raced into a three-goal lead before Nick Fenton's injury-time consolation for Alfreton.

Liam Hearn fired the hosts ahead from six yards before Colbeck found the bottom corner from just inside the box.

Alfreton improved after the break, John Akinde shooting wide from 18 yards.

Colbeck crossed for Patrick McLaughlin to seal the win from close range before Fenton's 91st-minute header finally gave visiting fans something to cheer.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Grimsby joint manager Rob Scott told BBC Radio Humberside:

"I thought we were really at it from minute one today which was great to see. Once the first goal went in we looked a threat every time we went forward.

"We've got a quick turnaround now but we have to be at the same levels on Monday.

"We've had a couple of illnesses in the camp over the last week so we'll have to assess things and see where we are in terms of energy levels."
