Wales Women Under-19 fell to a 1-0 defeat in their Uefa Women's Under-19 Championship opener against Denmark Women U19 at Parc y Scarlets.

The visitors' Nikoline Frandsen scored from a free kick midway through the second period in Group A to see off Wales' brave challenge.

In Group B, Finland and Sweden drew 1-1 at Llanelli's Stebonheath Park.

Wales' next opponents England drew 0-0 with France and Germany beat Norway 5-0 later on Monday.
