Uefa Women's U19: Wales 0-3 England

Wales Women's team

Three second-half goals consigned Wales to a second defeat in the Uefa Women's U19s championship at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli.

Defeat ended Welsh hopes of reaching the last four, while England go top of Group A.

Midfielder Melissa Langley scored on the 63rd minute before Nikita Parris made it 2-0 and Bethany Mead scrambled in a third goal on the 89th minute.

Parris also missed a penalty for England when she hit the bar.

England won 6-0 the last time these sides met in a competitive fixture 18 months ago, but a repeat never looked on the cards.

The home side were competitive for 60 minutes but England, who were a threat from set pieces, finally took control of the game with Langley's goal.

Wales, who lost to 1-0 Denmark in their opener, are bottom of Group A and cannot now make the semi-finals.

On Sunday their final game will be against France, who beat Denmark 3-1 at Stebonheath Park.

In Group B, Germany were 2-0 winners against Sweden and Finland beat Norway 1-0.
