Paul Watson fired a late free-kick to give Montrose their first point of the season against Berwick Rangers.
The visitors started brightly with Darren Lavery coming close with a header and Lee Currie stinging the palms of goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie.
Terry Masson almost broke the deadlock for Montrose, firing against the post.
Lavery nodded Berwick ahead midway through the second half but Watson struck to level matters six minutes from the end.
