Osayamen Osawe scored the only goal of the game as Southport beat Aldershot to claim their fourth win of the season.
Osawe gave the hosts the lead with his first goal for the Sandgrounders, heading in David Fitzpatrick's cross from 12 yards.
The hosts dominated the closing stages of the first half and had chances to add to their lead but could not find a way past Aldershot keeper Glenn Morris.
Aldershot remain on -3 points having started the season on -10.

Aldershot Town manager Andy Scott told BBC Surrey:
"We made the pitch too big, we didn't squeeze them, we didn't win enough second balls and we were too deep defensively. we gave the opportunities to the other team and gave them the impetus.
"We didn't look like we had a cutting edge in the game, we didn't look like we could create too much and we looked toothless to be honest.
"We didn't use our knowledge, experience to start the game well enough and that's the difference. We need to address out starts and we can do it and we've got to have everyone in the team to show their effort."
