Oxford United: Johnny Mullins says side can cope with injuries
Oxford defender Johnny Mullins says the side have shown that they can overcome their early season injury setbacks.
The U's are without top scorer Deane Smalley, Sean Rigg and Jon Meades while Dave Kitson was only fit enough to be a second half substitute during the local derby against Wycombe on Saturday.
"Look how we handled it," Mullins told BBC Radio Oxford. "We haven't lost."
Mullins scored a last-minute equaliser against Wycombe to earn the League Two leaders a 2-2 draw.
And despite dropping points for the first time this season the defender was delighted to earn something from the game.
"I'm disappointed we couldn't get the win but we are still unbeaten and top of the league," he added.
"There is a real feeling of togetherness and when it all clicks someone could be in some trouble.
"I'm thankful we got the point and can keep that unbeaten run going."
Mullins is also confident Oxford will improve as the season goes on and once they get their best players back on the pitch.
"It's a squad game and we are all in it together and we will be all season," he said.
"We know every team that will come here will make it difficult and we need to keep our foot on the pedal. It is only four games in. We are not the finished article but are still unbeaten."
