Aberdeen's Willo Flood to miss six weeks with hamstring injury

Willo Flood is set to miss six week through injury

Aberdeen midfielder Willo Flood has been ruled out for six weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old Irishman pulled up in Tuesday's League Cup penalty shoot-out win over Alloa and a scan showed he had torn the muscle.

Flood will therefore join fellow summer signing Barry Robson on the sidelines.

Forward Josh Magennis (shoulder) and winger Jonny Hayes (concussion) will also miss Saturday's Premiership game at home to St Johnstone.

Manager Derek McInnes said: "Josh has got a shoulder problem. He landed on it in training on Monday and didn't think too much of it and reported on Tuesday morning with real acute pain.

"He can't have any contact so he is out as it stands."

"Jonny is okay but because there's been a concussion he won't be available for the weekend."

Former Celtic and Dundee United midfielder Flood has been a stand-out performer for the Dons in the first few weeks of the season and scored in the opening day win against Kilmarnock.
