Ayr Utd 2-2 Airdrieonians

Michael Moffat scored twice as nine-man Ayr United held Airdrieonians to a thrilling draw.

Moffat scored twice within five minutes after Patrick Boyle had given the visitors a fourth-minute lead.

Nathan Blockley equalised for Airdrie eight minutes before half-time, six minutes after which Gordon Pope was shown a red card.

David Hutton saved the penalty and Ayr survived for 35 minutes after Alan Forrest was also sent off.

The Diamonds went in front when defender Boyle's long-range effort found the top corner of Hutton's net.

The hosts found themselves on level terms eight minutes later when Moffat slotted the ball underneath Andrew Duncan from close range.

Ayr went 2-1 up when Moffat tapped in his second from the middle of the box after good work from Michael Donald on the left wing.

The visitors equalised when Blockley nodded in William McLaren's cross.

Ayr were reduced to 10 men after Pope's foul in the box, but Hutton was on hand to save McLaren's penalty and keep the scores level.

Mark Roberts' side went down to nine men four minutes later when midfielder Forrest was dismissed, but they held on to secure a point.
