Striker Bryan Deasley scored on his Montrose debut as they recorded a win over Albion at Cliftonhill.
The visitors dominated in the early stages and it was not long before they found themselves in front.
Midfielder Lloyd Young swept the ball past Albion stopper Neil Parry from close range just before the half-hour mark to give his side the advantage going into the interval.
Rovers pushed for an equaliser after the break but they were unable to find a way past Stuart McKenzie in the visitors' goal.
And the Gable Endies doubled their lead in the 64th minute when on-loan Forfar striker Deasley unleashed a left-footed strike from the middle of the box to cap a memorable first performance.
