Robinho and Mario Balotelli scored as AC Milan beat Cagliari 3-1 on a goal-filled weekend in Serie A.

Philippe Mexes scored Milan's other goal, with Cagliari's Marco Sau scoring one of 42 goals over the weekend.

Alberto Aquilani scored the opener and Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez added two each as Fiorentina beat Genoa 5-2.

Inter Milan eased to a 3-0 win over Catania, while Roma beat Verona 3-0 thanks in part to Miralem Pjanic's wonderful 25-yard chip.

Former Manchester United target Adem Ljajic scored from similar range on his debut.
