Win can kick-start Hartlepool United's season - Colin Cooper

Hartlepool United manager Colin Cooper is hopeful their first win of the season can become a springboard for a run of good form in League Two.

Pools had lost four of their opening six league games of the season and scored only one goal before Saturday's 2-1 victory against Accrington Stanley.

"We've got that first win, we scored two good goals," Cooper told BBC Tees.

"Hopefully we go to Bristol Rovers next week with a bit more confidence and belief and see what we can do."

He added: "Every game is difficult but no team has frightened me or put us to the sword.

"But what we have to do is show a steely determination not to lose again ,because we're more than capable of winning football matches.

"Sometimes it takes a gritty determination to get you going."
