Michael Bolochoweckyj's first-half strike was enough to seal East Stirling their fifth win of the season with a victory over Berwick at Ochilview Park.
The Edinburgh-born defender popped up with a fifth minute goal to send his team four points clear at the top of Scottish League Two, as the hosts bounced back from a humbling 4-1 home defeat to Albion Rovers last time out.
Ross O'Donoghue laid off to Bolochoweckyj in the area and he steered a low shot into the corner of Paul Grant's goal.
But despite scoring early-on, John Coughlin's men rode their luck for the remainder of the game, with both Scott Dalziel and Kenny O'Brien being denied by Grant Hay.
But the home side held out to record their second clean sheet of the campaign.
