Tommy Spurr: Long throw can be Blackburn goalscoring weapon
Defender Tommy Spurr hopes his long throw can become a potent weapon for Blackburn after setting up the winning goal for Jordan Rhodes against Watford.
made it back-to-back victories for Gary Bowyer's side, who lie eighth in the Championship table.
"The gaffer wants to use the long throw and I finally got one right," Spurr told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"It went flat, straight onto Scott Dann's head, and Jordan's done what Jordan does and scored."
Spurr, who on the eve of the season, has started all 10 league games for his new club and is enjoying his time at Ewood Park.
The 26-year-old added: "Since I left Sheffield Wednesday, I've wanted an opportunity to play at a really big club again and Blackburn is a big club.
"I'm relishing the opportunity to play games and play well, which I think I'm doing at the moment."
Blackburn have lost just one of their last seven games and travel to Wigan on Sunday with the chance to register three successive league wins for the first time since August 2010 - a run that stretched between the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons.
