Stevenage 2-1 Brentford

Stevenage ended their run of six league games without a win by coming from behind to beat much-fancied Brentford.

Striker Francois Zoko scored twice to lift Boro out of the bottom four.

They looked set for a fifth straight league defeat when Clayton Donaldson touched in a Jonathan Douglas effort, but they were ahead for just a minute.

Zoko pounced on keeper David Button's error to level, before the Ivorian turned in the rebound after Jordan Burrow's shot had been blocked.

Stevenage are up to 19th while Brentford remain in mid-table after a fourth defeat in six league outings.

Post-match: Stevenage boss Westley

"It was a hard-earned victory. It was never going to be an easy game. They're a tough outfit with some good players and we knew it was going to have to be a decent performance that was required to win the game.

"What a tremendous response from the players [after going 1-0 down]. I think their characters are starting to shine through and they're starting to show what they're truly all about.

"I wasn't watching [Zoko's second goal]. I turned away to speak to somebody and it was in the net. I just had to ask who scored it and that was that.

"You can see that the players are much more focused on winning now. It's no surprise to me that results have turned."

Post Match: Brentford boss Uwe Rosler

Brentford boss Uwe Rosler speaks to BBC London 94.9:

"Everyone could see we started well, in the first 10 minutes we had three big chances, massive ones. But individual mistakes and they got a goal out of nothing, players lost confidence again, but we had a good long, honest chat after the game so it was a good talk and well needed.

"It's hard to explain that defeat as we should never have lost that game. We have been together for two and a half years together and we have changed the structures of the team, and at times we need to have a chat about how things are going and we had that today.

"We were a point behind this total at the same stage last year, and we all know how that season ended up."
