Stirling Albion 2-1 Albion Rovers

Stirling Albion bounced back from their weekend defeat by Clyde courtesy of Dale Fulton's deflected second-half winner over 10-man Albion Rovers.

Visiting midfielder Chris Dallas had cancelled out Phillip Johnston's early opener for Stirling.

But the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Scott Chaplain was shown a straight red card after 20 minutes.

And Fulton's shot midway through the second half secured Stirling a third home league win of the season.

Johnston struck in the 10th minute after being played in by Graham Weir, racing on to the ball before despatching a right-footed shot high into the net for his second goal of the season.

But the home side's lead was short-lived as defender Ross McGleachie's attempted clearance fell straight to Dallas and, after a good first touch, the Rovers midfielder smashed the ball home for a 15th-minute equaliser.

The Coatbridge side were reduced to 10 men by referee Craig Charleston after Champlain caught Stirling midfielder David McClune flush in the face with his boot during a high tackle.

Stirling regained the lead in fortuitous circumstances in the 63rd minute when Fulton's 20-yard shot was deflected past helpless Rovers goalkeeper Neil Parry.

It means Stirling leapfrog Clyde into second place on goal difference, three points behind East Stirlingshire, who defeated Annan Athletic 2-1.
