Exeter City 0-1 Burton Albion

Exeter City missed out on going top of League Two after a dramatic late Phil Edwards header helped Burton Albion record their third away win in a row.

The hosts started strong when John O'Flynn saw his shot saved by Jordan Pickford midway through the first half.

Alan Gow then forced a superb save from Pickford before Robbie Weir was booked for an elbow on Tommy Doherty.

But it was Edwards who lifted Albion into sixth place when he headed in Chris Hussey's corner after 89 minutes.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby:

"We talk about clean sheets all the time and that's the basis we've got to work from and I think that's been a lot better in the last five or six games.

"Exeter probably had the two clearest chances of the game and Jordan (Pickford) made two terrific saves, but I think they were down to momentary lapses of concentration which let them in there.

"I think overall, it's a long way to come and not get anything and I think that's a really pleasing away performance.

"The goal came from a fantastic delivery from the corner and Phil's been threatening to do that for some time now."
