Hodgson rues 'disappointing' defeat

Manager Roy Hodgson tells BBC Sport's David Ornstein England's 1-0 defeat against Germany was a "disappointing" result, but feels his side were not outplayed.

Per Mertesacker's first-half header gave the visitors the win, and meant England suffered back-to-back Wembley defeats for the first time in 36 years.

Defender Chris Smalling admits the team are "gutted" at a second defeat in five days, but feels there are "positives" that England can build on ahead of next summer's World Cup.
