Paddy Madden: Yeovil Town striker placed on transfer list

Yeovil Town have placed last season's top scorer Paddy Madden on the transfer list, despite having scored the fewest goals in the Championship.

The Republic of Ireland striker netted 23 times as Yeovil won promotion from League One last season but has failed to find the net this term.

Glovers boss Gary Johnson confirmed in October that attitude problems had cost Madden a regular starting place.

The Irishman, 23, has started just six league games this season.

Madden started his career in the League of Ireland Premier Division before making the move to England with Carlisle in 2011.

But he failed to keep hold of a first-team place at Brunton Park and was loaned to Yeovil in October 2012.

Madden scored twice on his debut against Colchester and the Glovers went on to agree a deal with Carlisle to sign the forward on a permanent basis.

His move was confirmed in January with Johnson describing him as a "bargain" signing.

Madden finished League One's top scorer last season, and his last competitive goal came in the 2-1 play-off final win at Wembley against Brentford in May.
